This study quantify the effectiveness of global leadership training in 2 Sunshine International Camps (SICs) aiming to develop global competence of Chinese university students. The Cultural Intelligence (CQ) framework and associated Cultural Intelligence Score (CQS) instrument were used in this analysis. A pre/post-test quasi-experimental research design with control group on two leadership camps held in Hong Kong and Kunming, China, performed in summer 2009 was used in this research. The 3x2 factorial ANOVA and t-test analyses show significant improvements in the Cultural Intelligence score of Mainland Chinese students after attending the cross-cultural training camp. Results also indicate that the 10-day camp in Kunming produced a more significant CQ improvement than the 5-day camp in Hong Kong.
